Worship at First Baptist
Each week, our congregation gathers at 11 a.m. in order to worship together as a family of faith. In 1 Thessalonians 5, we find the instruction to “give thanks in all circumstances.” Worship is one way we learn how to do that. On Sunday mornings, we gather in our sanctuary to lift our voices in song, hear the reading of Scripture, reflect and meditate on the spoken word through prayers and the sermon, and be in fellowship with one another. We believe that in doing this, we can become more aware of God’s presence in our lives, we can better shape our actions to reflect that of Jesus, and, of course, learn how to give thanks in all circumstances, no matter how challenging they may be.
Worship at First Baptist is what many people would call traditional. Our worship music mostly consists of hymns (though not always), and we celebrate the seasons of the Christian year. Many people will come in suits and Sunday dresses, but some also come in a t-shirt and blue jeans. The most important thing is we are gathered as a community, and we hope you will join us too, just as you are!
