Rev. Chris Liles
Chris joined the staff at First Baptist as pastor in 2016. He is originally from Birmingham, AL, and in case you were wondering, he’s an Auburn fan. Chris’s wife, Emily, is a 6th grade teacher in the York School District. They have two daughters, Tessa and Addie. When Chris isn’t in the office, he enjoys supporting the coffee shops and bakeries on Congress Street, playing golf, watching most any sport, and using his collection of fountain pens.
Libby is the Choir Director for First Baptist and enjoys sharing her love of music with others. She has loved singing for as long as she can remember and loves worshiping through singing! She has been a member at First Baptist since birth and has directed the choir for about 10 years – with a few years off here and there! She is happily married to Gene (30 plus years) and loves spending time with her family – Masey, Nora, and Harrison. She loves reading and cooking in her spare time.
God opened a door of opportunity for Carla to be able to assist in the care of her 3 precious grandchildren in 2016 and she chose to accept it.
She has been the Financial Secretary/Ministerial Assistant at FBC since 2016. Her responsibilities include accounting duties, putting together various publications, and calendar creation. Additionally, you’re likely to find her handling communications for the church, as well as assisting the staff and membership to provide what might be needed.
Carla has an Associate degree in Accounting with Entreprenural Specialities from York Technical College along with two Associate degrees in Computer and Electronics Engineering. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, and nature hikes.
Masey is in charge of the nursery at First Baptist, and has been for four years now. She has been a member at First Baptist for 21 years, having grown up in the church. She loves working with kids and being able to teach them about Jesus.
Youth and Children’s Director
Rheba has been the organist at First Baptist for 49 years. She studied music at Winthrop, and when she isn’t playing the organ, you can find her spending time with her 3 kids, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Lisa is our Preschool Director and a lead four year old teacher, a position she has occupied since 2017. Though this is her only her second year with our Preschool, she has been an early education teacher for 28 years.
She is a native of North Carolina. She and her husband moved to York County from Boone in 2007, knew they were home. They have been married for 37 years and have two beautiful, grown children and a sweet, sweet granddaughter.
